Hindi film music turns to Rajasthan whenever it wants warmth and a sense of celebration. With 'Dhola Ji', the makers of Sunny Deol's 'SURYAA: Ant Se Aarambh Tak' are using that tradition right in the middle of wedding season.

Zee Music Company released the track as the film's second song, following 'Suniyo Zara'. It brings together three very different voices: Shreya Ghoshal's polished playback singing, Javed Ali's Sufi-tinged romantic style and Swaroop Khan's earthy Rajasthani folk vocals. The song combines traditional folk elements with a modern film arrangement, aiming to honour the region's musical heritage while still working as a mainstream festive number.

'Emotion needs room to breathe'

For Javed Ali, the song's appeal lies in its mood rather than its scale. "Dhola Ji has romance, warmth, and the feeling of people coming together for a happy occasion. For me, the emotion in the words is what makes a melody connect. This song gives that emotion room to breathe, and bringing our four voices together adds to its celebratory spirit," he said.

Swaroop Khan, who brings the song's folk authenticity, spoke about what the genre means to him. "Rajasthani folk music has a warmth that makes people feel at home. Dhola Ji carries that spirit, and it means a lot to be part of a song that celebrates it on this scale. I would love to hear it at family gatherings and weddings, with people singing along and making it their own," he said.

Why the folk route works

Khan's wish to hear the song at weddings may also explain the release strategy. Folk-based tracks often last well beyond a film's run because they become part of sangeet playlists, family functions and short-video trends. Releasing 'Dhola Ji' just weeks before the film and at the peak of the wedding calendar gives it a good chance of staying on people's playlists.

Casting a folk singer alongside two established playback stars also reflects a wider trend in Bollywood music. Rather than having mainstream singers imitate folk styles, producers increasingly bring traditional voices into the recording itself. For listeners, the folk element sounds more authentic. For folk artists, it brings national attention.

The music video features Siddharth Sharma and Vriti Vaghani. It mixes different singing styles to celebrate India's diverse musical culture, and the song is now streaming on Zee Music Company's official YouTube channel.

Countdown to November 20

Presented by Kamal Mukut and M M Moviez, 'SURYAA: Ant Se Aarambh Tak' is directed by M. Padmakumar and produced by Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut and Lokesh Mukut. The film releases in cinemas on November 20, 2026.

With two songs out and the release about two weeks away, 'Dhola Ji' shows a softer, more festive side of a film led by an actor known for intense action roles, and it could widen the film's appeal to family audiences.
