Mumbai: Actor and filmmaker Gajraj Rao marked five years of directing the promotional television commercial for the show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, which featured Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar.

On his social media account, Rao shared behind-the-scenes pictures and a still with the lead actors from the promotional shoot. He wrote: “Five years since directing this TVC for Sony’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. It was a pleasure working with the show’s incredibly talented lead cast. Time flies, but the memories of creating it remain just as special.”

Disha Parmar reshared the post and expressed her gratitude. “What a pleasure to have worked with you Sir! @gajrajrao,” she wrote.

The promotional campaign directed by Rao was launched ahead of the premiere of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 in 2021. The series, produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, premiered on Sony Entertainment Television on August 30, 2021. It starred Nakuul Mehta, Disha Parmar, Shubhaavi Choksey, Sneha Namanandi, Alefia Kapadia, Ajay Nagrath, Aarohi M Kumawat, Abhinav Kapoor and others during its run.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 served as a successor to the popular 2011 series of the same name. The original, also produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, starred Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar as Ram and Priya and became one of Indian television’s most-watched romantic dramas.

Gajraj Rao is known for films such as Badhaai Ho, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Maidaan and Lootcase. He has also worked extensively in advertising, having assisted filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar on numerous commercials before taking on directing assignments of his own.

By revisiting the five-year milestone, Rao highlighted a professional collaboration that linked his work in advertising and direction with one of television’s notable relaunches of the past decade. The exchange of appreciation with Disha Parmar underscored the lasting goodwill from the campaign.
