Mumbai, Aug 4 — Actress Jannat Zubair has reacted to link-up rumours with Elvish Yadav, describing them as “a little too much” while acknowledging the audience’s fondness for their on-screen camaraderie.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Zubair said that when viewers like a pair’s bond, they often create a hashtag and begin linking the two. She maintained that interactions on set remain strictly professional, even if fans sometimes take the association further.
“I can’t say anything about it. I mean, it’s something that’s been going on for years. If they see someone and they like their bond, their friendship, they often become a hashtag. Often people start linking them. But I don’t think you should link them. Linking is something that is a little too much,” she said.
At the same time, Zubair found the fan edits and dedicated pages created for them endearing. “But as far as the bond is concerned, if someone likes it, then I think it’s okay to love them, to support them, to make their fan pages or address and do all of that. I think that is very sweet and we appreciate that. That is absolutely no problem. But I just think that if we keep the link-up aside, then everything else is okay and welcome,” she added.
Zubair and Yadav were co-contestants on the cooking reality show Laughter Chefs, where they were frequently seen sharing jokes and displaying an easy rapport. The two have also collaborated on romantic numbers this year, including Janvish, Tere Ishq Mai and Sun Meri Shehzadi.
Yadav is preparing for his Bollywood debut in an as-yet-untitled action film directed by Remo D’Souza. The project, which also stars Tiger Shroff, is being produced by Viccky Jain under his newly launched banner VJ Frames. Jain was also a contestant on Laughter Chefs.
Zubair’s comments draw a clear distinction between professional on-screen chemistry that audiences enjoy and personal link-up speculation that she considers excessive.
