Chennai, August 17 — The makers of director Vishnu Edavan’s romantic entertainer Hi, starring Nayanthara and Kavin, have revealed the character played by the late actor and iconic director K Bhagyaraj in the film.

Zee Studios South, one of the production houses, shared the update on social media: “One more unforgettable character from an unforgettable legend. K. Bhagyaraj as Vaathiyar. #HiMovie. Mark your calendars for AUGUST 28 as the most heartwarming entertainer of the season arrives in theatres. Get ready for the fun-filled Hi, featuring @nayanthara and @kavin.0431. A film directed by @vishnuedavanofficial. A @jenmartinmusic Musical.”

The film was originally scheduled for release on August 14 but has now been postponed to August 28. The Censor Board has cleared it with a U/A certificate.

Jointly produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studios, Hi also features Prabhu, Radhika, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir and Kureishi among others.

Sources close to the unit told IANS that the story unfolds across three cities — Chennai, Coimbatore and Pollachi. They described the film as a family entertainer without any villains.

Vishnu Edavan, making his directorial debut, previously worked as an associate director to Lokesh Kanagaraj on projects including Kaithi, Master and Vikram. He has earlier described Hi as a wholesome family entertainer that speaks about true love.

Expectations are high as this marks the first on-screen pairing of Nayanthara and Kavin.

The film has music by Jen Martin, cinematography by Rajesh Shukla, editing by Philomin Raj and art direction by Shekhar B. Dances are choreographed by Brinda, while stunts are handled by Dinesh Kasi.
