Mumbai, August 7, 2026 — Actress Shilpa Shinde has said she missed Bollywood star Salman Khan during her time on the reality show Lock Upp, stating that he would have taken a firm stand against the age shaming and work shaming she allegedly faced inside the house.

Speaking to the media after the show’s finale, Shinde was asked if there was anyone she missed during her stay. “I have missed him (Salman Khan) at many places. Because very frankly, a lot of things have not happened in telecast, the way I was talked to. And I am talking about Shivangi Joshi,” she said.

Shinde alleged that she was subjected to age shaming and work shaming during the season. “Age shaming, work shaming… and I remembered that the way Salmanji used to stand for those things, I missed that here,” she added.

She clarified that she did not perceive host Farah Khan as biased toward any contestant. “Whereas I could see Farah ji, that she likes me, there was no such partiality. But there is only one hour telecast, and it runs for 24 hours. So that was very insulting,” Shinde explained.

The actress also raised concerns about the message such interactions convey to viewers, particularly younger audiences. “After that, you are talking that you are playing a very good game. So you are giving this message to the youth of today, that talking to someone rudely, and answering in this way, your good game is visible. I felt very bad about that,” she said.

Praising Salman Khan, Shinde concluded: “And I really missed him. That no one can be like him. No one can.”

Shinde and Khan share a notable association from Bigg Boss 11, which the actress won under his hosting. During that season, Khan was frequently seen intervening in house conflicts and addressing contestants over their behaviour.

Lock Upp Season 2 concluded on August 5. Shreya Kalra emerged as the winner, with Shivangi Joshi finishing as the first runner-up and Yogesh as the second runner-up. Shilpa Shinde placed as the fourth runner-up.

Shinde’s comments highlight the challenges of condensed television edits in reality formats, where 24-hour interactions are reduced to limited broadcast time. Her remarks also reflect on the standards of conduct expected within such shows and the role of hosts in setting those standards.
