How the Target Was Chosen
The most worrying detail comes from Mumbai Crime Branch sources. The accused allegedly carried out reconnaissance of several celebrity homes, including those of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, before choosing Tiger. Auto-rickshaw drivers reportedly drove them around these locations without knowing their plan.
Reports suggest the attackers were told to target stars whose security was not very strict. In simple terms, the gang was allegedly looking for “soft targets”, not just big names.
Young Recruits, Remote Masterminds
Most of those arrested are in their late teens or early twenties and come from different states. This matches a pattern seen in earlier cases, where gangs reportedly use young recruits for ground-level work while planners stay hidden. The Lawrence Bishnoi group, which claimed responsibility for the attack, has been linked to several such incidents.
Why It Matters for Bollywood
The case is the latest in a series of attacks connected to the film industry, including the firing at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu home earlier this year and outside Salman Khan’s residence in 2024. The finding that attackers deliberately looked for weaker security could push production houses and stars across the industry to review their safety arrangements, from homes to film sets and travel routes.
What Investigators Want to Know Now
With the shooters and alleged weapon suppliers in custody, police are expected to focus on those who planned and funded the attack, and how instructions were passed to the accused.
What Comes Next
Once transit remand is granted, the two latest accused will be brought to Mumbai for questioning. More arrests are possible as investigators follow the money and communication trail.
