Why It Matters: Fewer Hurdles for Typist Posts

The most notable change this year is the removal of the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test for the Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist posts. Selected candidates will still be expected to have basic computer and typing skills, which will be assessed after joining.

For aspirants, this removes one stage of the process and an exam that many found stressful. It doesn’t mean typing skills don’t matter, though: candidates should still prepare, since proficiency will be checked on the job.

With 2,750 of the 3,548 posts, the Goods Train Manager role offers the best odds by volume, and is worth understanding well before choosing preferences.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official Railway Recruitment Boards website: rrb.indianrailways.gov.in
  2. Read the detailed notification (CEN 06/2026) and vacancy distribution.
  3. Register and fill in the online application.
  4. Upload documents and pay the fee by November 8.
  5. Use the correction window (November 9–18) if you need to fix details.

Tips for Aspirants

  • Apply well before the last date to avoid server rush.
  • Use only the official RRB website; beware of fake job sites and agents.
  • Check post-specific eligibility carefully before applying.

The Bottom Line

With 3,548 posts, starting pay of ₹29,200 or more and a simpler process for typist roles, RRB NTPC 2026 is a significant chance for graduates. The deadline is November 6.
