New Delhi: North Delhi Strikers produced a strong batting display to defeat East Delhi Riders by six wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Batting first, East Delhi Riders posted a competitive 171 for 6 in their 20 overs, built around an unbeaten knock from Sujal Singh. The left-hander scored 82 off 50 balls, including six fours and four sixes, and anchored the innings as wickets fell at regular intervals around him. He paced his effort carefully before accelerating in the latter half to help his side reach a fighting total.

For the Strikers, Vikas Dixit was the most effective bowler, returning figures of 1 for 19 from his four overs. The rest of the attack maintained reasonable control despite Sujal’s resistance.

Chasing 172, North Delhi Strikers made a shaky start and slipped to 39 for 2 in the early overs. Captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Bhatia then stabilised the innings with a 113-run partnership for the third wicket that shifted the momentum decisively.

Ranjan led from the front with a commanding 95 off 50 balls, striking seven fours and eight sixes. He took the game away from the Riders in the 14th over, hitting Simarjeet Singh for 29 runs. Although he fell short of a century, caught by Vaibhav Baisla off Ashish Meena, he had already put his team in a commanding position.

Bharat Sindhwani was dismissed soon afterwards, but there was little concern for the Strikers. Yash Bhatia continued in fine form, reaching an unbeaten half-century and guiding the chase with composure. He ensured there were no further setbacks as North Delhi Strikers crossed the target comfortably.

The result underlined the Strikers’ batting depth and Ranjan’s ability to dominate in the middle overs, while Sujal Singh’s lone hand remained the highlight of the Riders’ effort.
