NEW DELHI — Graduating students and top honorees at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relatable and engaging address following the institute’s annual convocation ceremony on Saturday, August 8. Akshat Singhal, who was awarded the prestigious President's Gold Medal in B.Tech Computer Science, noted how the Prime Minister referenced specific campus traditions, including late-night study sessions and local eateries.

Focus on Youth and Research Innovation

The sentiment was echoed by Ramireddy Venkata Sai Reddy, Perfect Ten Gold Medalist in M.Tech Biomedical Engineering, who highlighted how subtle campus references resonated with the graduating batch.

During the ceremony, academic leaders highlighted IIT Delhi’s ongoing research contributions in biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and structural sustainability. PM Modi reiterated the Union government's focus on aligning higher education policy with research-driven entrepreneurship, urging the incoming cohort of engineers to turn academic projects into scalable public utility solutions.
