MUMBAI — Marking a joyous family milestone, Priya Ahuja—mother of entrepreneur Anand Ahuja and mother-in-law to actor Sonam Kapoor—celebrated her eldest grandson Vayu’s fourth birthday on Thursday with a touching social media reflection.
Sharing a photo montage featuring key moments from Vayu’s early childhood alongside his parents and younger brother Rudralokh, Ahuja described the four-year-old as the family's "greatest joy."
"Happy birthday to our precious little Vayu. Four years of sunshine, laughter, mischief and pure magic," Ahuja wrote. "You have brought so much happiness into our lives, and watching you grow into the sweetest, brightest little boy has been one of our greatest joys. May your beautiful smile always shine, your little heart always be filled with love, and that precious sparkle in your eyes never fade."
Ahuja added her blessings for her grandson's future, writing, "You may be little, but you have made the biggest place in our hearts. Lots and lots of love, hugs, and blessings always and forever."
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who married in an intimate Mumbai ceremony in May 2018, welcomed Vayu on August 20, 2022. The couple welcomed their second son, Rudralokh, in March 2026.
Throughout Vayu's early years, the London- and Mumbai-based couple has maintained a protective approach to their children's privacy, selectively sharing glimpses of their home life while keeping their sons' faces largely shielded from public digital platforms.
The birthday celebration comes as Kapoor prepares to resume public engagements following a period focused on her family. Attending a luxury jewelry event in Mumbai on Wednesday evening, the actor shared on social media that she was gradually stepping out from her "postpartum sabbatical."
Since making her feature film debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2007 romance Saawariya, Kapoor has built a notable career in mainstream Hindi cinema, starring in critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects such as Delhi-6, Aisha, Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat, Veere Di Wedding, and the 2016 biographical drama Neerja, which earned her a National Film Award.
