ReNew collaborates with Kathak Guru Shovana Narayan to promote conversation on climate through art

This collaboration extends ReNew’s commitment to taking the clean energy and climate conversation beyond the energy sector. At the heart of this effort is Clean Energy Humse Hai, ReNew’s campaign that makes the clean energy transition personal and relevant to every Indian. Built on the idea that clean energy is not just about technology or policy, but about all of us, the campaign seeks to inspire collective ownership of the choices shaping our future.

Conceived by Guru Dr. Shovana Narayan, along with her Asavari Repertory, Fractured Harmonies unfolds across four acts — exploring polluted rivers and seas, deforestation and its impact on communities, humanity’s growing presence in space, and the challenge of space debris. The performance culminates in Restoring Nature’s Harmony — a call to move from recognition to responsibility, and from awareness to collective action.

Drawing on the regenerative forces of Sooraj, HawaaurPaani, the production uses the vocabulary of Kathak to reflect on the interconnectedness of life and the possibility of renewal.

“Fractured Harmonies is a subject very close to my heart,” says Guru Shovana Narayan. “Through dance, we have sought to engage with some of the most pressing concerns of our time. While the production acknowledges what is being lost, it also looks towards renewal and our shared capacity to restore balance. Art can encourage us to pause, reflect and perhaps see our responsibilities differently.”

Through this initiative, ReNew is broadening the public conversation around India’s clean energy transition, encouraging greater individual ownership of the journey towards a sustainable future. By bringing the message into the realm of art and culture, ReNew seeks to make climate action not just something we understand, but something we feel and engage with.
