Handlooms Exhibition to Open in Delhi from August 6
The exhibition ‘Worlds Within Cloth: New Orders of Woven Making’ will run from August 6 to 19 at the National Crafts Museum in Delhi as part of National Handloom Day celebrations.
New Delhi: An exhibition titled “Worlds Within Cloth: New Orders of Woven Making” will open at the Virasat Hall of the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy here on Wednesday and remain open to the public from August 6 to 19.
The show forms part of the lead-up to the 12th National Handloom Day on August 7. It will be inaugurated by the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) and will be accessible daily between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Members of the public have been invited to experience the presentation of contemporary textile practices and their evolving relationship with India’s living handloom traditions, according to a statement from the Ministry of Textiles.
