The Rajasthan government is planning a large celebration for its third anniversary, and it wants young people at the centre of it. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma ordered a grand event in Jaipur. It will combine a showcase of government work with programmes on the state's historical icons, presented using artificial intelligence and other modern technology.
Achievements on display
Sharma said the government is committed to the welfare of youth, women, farmers and the underprivileged, along with the state's overall development. He said this momentum would continue under the Viksit Bharat-Viksit Rajasthan (Developed India-Developed Rajasthan) vision.
According to the Chief Minister, the government has achieved significant milestones over the past three years in power, water, roads, education, healthcare, employment, environment and industry. He also highlighted the Viksit Gram-Shahri Ward Abhiyan (Developed Village and Urban Ward Campaign). He said it has produced a comprehensive roadmap for the holistic development of villages and cities by 2047. He added that Rajasthan is currently leading in the implementation of 30 different schemes.
Officials have been asked to prepare a comprehensive plan to present these achievements, the pace of development and key policies to the public. The Chief Minister also directed that visitors be able to see the state's ongoing transformation and understand its vision for the future.
Bringing history to young people
The most distinctive part of the plan is its focus on youth. Sharma suggested a series of programmes and competitions to introduce young people to the lives and contributions of Maharana Pratap, Maharaja Surajmal, Amrita Devi and Meera Bai. Each is a celebrated figure in Rajasthan's history, known respectively for resistance, statecraft, environmental sacrifice and devotion.
He stressed that AI and other modern technologies should be used to make these activities more engaging and informative. Using technology to present heritage reflects a wider trend in government outreach, which increasingly aims to reach younger audiences through digital-first formats.
Coordination across departments
The Chief Minister told all departments to coordinate effectively and finish preparations on time so that the celebrations are "historic and grand." He also asked for a comprehensive action plan for anniversary programmes in various districts, along with excellent arrangements and facilities for visitors.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has been directed to regularly review and monitor preparations. Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries of various departments and other officials also attended the meeting.
With a statewide rollout planned, the anniversary will be both a celebration and a major public-outreach exercise for the government, as it presents its record and its plans for 2047.
