AB-PMJAY Enables 12.69 Crore Cashless Admissions
Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY has authorised 12.69 crore cashless hospital admissions worth Rs 1.92 lakh crore, reducing out-of-pocket healthcare costs, govt says.
New Delhi, Aug 4 — The government on Tuesday said that under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, 12.69 crore cashless hospital admissions worth Rs 1.92 lakh crore have been authorised as on June 30 through a network of 37,413 public and private hospitals, significantly reducing out-of-pocket expenditure.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav shared the details in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. He said the scheme provides health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation to 12 crore economically vulnerable families, representing the bottom 40 per cent of the population.
