Harshvardhan Rane has had a busy few months, and this Diwali he took time to give thanks before going back to work.
His caption was short: "#HappyDiwali ? #Kamakhya #Assam #Gratitude for everything i received ?"
Why Kamakhya holds special significance
The Kamakhya Temple, on Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, is considered one of the oldest and most significant Shakti Peethas in Hinduism. It is believed to be the site where a part of Goddess Sati's body fell, and it is revered as a symbol of fertility and feminine power. Devotees from across the country visit throughout the year, and the number of pilgrims usually rises around major festivals.
The visit also fits the way Harshvardhan presents himself online. He tends to share understated moments of reflection rather than celebrity glamour. "Gratitude" is a fitting word for him: after years of patient work, his career has finally gathered momentum, with fans flocking back to 'Sanam Teri Kasam' and his role in 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' drawing attention.
A packed calendar ahead
His work commitments are just as busy. On Thursday, he shared an update on Instagram saying he has started voice work for 'Force 3' and will most likely finish shooting his drama with Ram Gopal Varma by November 28.
"FORCE 3 voice work begins DAYA NAYAK shoot to finish by 28th November #update," he wrote.
'Force 3' is a big step for the actor. Directed by Bhav Dhulia, the third film in the popular 'Force' franchise brings back John Abraham as ACP Yashvardhan Singh, the intense cop who made the series an action favourite. The film is produced by John Abraham's home banner JA Entertainment with Sheel Kumar's Karolina Corporation, and it is slated to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.
Starring opposite an established action lead in a franchise film gives Harshvardhan a chance to reach a wider, mass-market audience beyond the romantic-drama fans who first made him popular.
His Ram Gopal Varma project, 'Police Company', explores grittier territory. Set in Mumbai in the 1990s and 2000s, it is based on the special squad the Mumbai Police formed to tackle growing gang activity. That backdrop has long suited RGV, whose crime dramas defined an era of Hindi cinema.
With an action franchise and a period cop drama lined up, Harshvardhan is moving firmly into intense, uniform-driven roles. Before that, he stopped at Kamakhya to give thanks.
